Dictionary for 51 language combinations, usable with or without an internet connection (offline dictionary). Vocabularies can be downloaded and updated within the app for free.

German-English dictionary: more than 1 million translations
All dictionaries are bidirectional, so German-English doubles as English-German. Just type in your keyword in either language.
The following languages are available in combination with German and English:

Albanian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Esperanto, Finnish, French, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Latin, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish

New translations and corrections can be suggested at http://contribute.dict.cc/. Every translation gets checked by several other contributing users. The downloadable vocabularies are updated daily.

This version shows ads, but you can unlock the ad-free version with additional features, such as "Recent Searches", Quiz Game" and "Vocabulary Trainer" within the app. Try it for free for one week!

This is a wonderful app. I love the possibility that you can go back and forth from the translation results to the original language. This allows to fine tune the choice of a a translation. The app has also an undocumented feature. Tap and hold the search term and you get for many words a definition in the original language, like a Webster. Thats very helpful. This function has a little bug. When returning to the search page the app seems to be frozen. Close it with the Home button and reopen it and its working again.
This is a REALLY good German/English and visa versa dictionary. Works offline (crucial for me), massive database of words and phrases. Clear indications of gender. Dictates. Couldnt be happier.
I had to restart my phone but when it started working, it was exactly what I needed! Good layout, easy to use and very fast. I am a fan of the website and the only question I have is- are you developing a pro version that has example sentences like the website? Great job!
...that this app is free. I am in Deutschland now for the first time and have been referring to this app constantly as I try to navigate my way through menus, signs, everything. Very extensive vocabulary and phrase book. Very easy and simple UI - no switching between languages for input. Works offline. Nothing more or less than exactly what you need it to be.

Some bad moments

Instantly crashes when launching the app! Unusable since the last update! iPhone 6 ios 9.0.2
I dont understand how the new version work. I cant translate anything. The last version worked etter, it was easyer to understand and was a 5 stars.. . please make it easyer for your next version.
Pros: Fast, easy to use and search, with lots of common combinations and turns of phrase not found in other dictionaries. Offline use is a big plus! Cons: It seems that often the noun gender is not displayed (very annoying). Worse, the object case required by verbs and associated prepositions is also rarely shown! Finally, there doesnt seem to be a browse mode. Unfortunately, because of the above issues, I only use this dictionary app as a supplement, not as a single "go to" app. Its a shame, as their online dictionary website is quite thorough and useful.
New update is not stable at all. App crashes all the time. Update the update or go back to prior (good working ) version.
The new version is not even working for me. Even if it was, the old UI was just much simpler and faster to use.
It has a lot of entries, but this app lacks plural forms for nouns and does not list the past participle of verbs, so it is rather useless to me. I dont understand why the app is missing this info, because the website has it.
